Vaughan, pencils by Lee Ferguson, inks by Norm Rapmund; Chamber and Cyclops rescue young Nicholas Gleason from mutant hunters and bring him back to Xavier's School; After learning of the deaths of a group of mutants on the campus of Empire State University (whose progressive policies now include affirmative action for mutants), Chamber asks to go undercover as a student and discover what really happened; Chamber arrives at ESU and immediately befriends the reptilian looking Amber and has a run in with Magnetic North, a pro-Magneto faction of mutants on campus; He also meets with Gigi Martin, the leader of the Students for Tolerance and the human girlfriend of one of the mutants who was killed; After a long day of sleuthing (and a hearty argument with Walter, his wheelchair bound roommate), Jono heads for bed but is rudely awakened by someone shooting him multiple times in the chest. Vaughan, pencils by Lee Ferguson, inks by Norm Rapmund; Chamber wakes up after being shot in the chest in his ESU dorm room to find that the bullets did little harm; He meets up with Amber and tells her of the attack and endures another encounter with Magnetic North; He also tells Gigi of the assault and she points him to the anti-mutant hate group, Purity, whom she believes may have been behind the mutant bombing Chamber is investigating; Chamber tracks down a member of Purity who has been stalking him and they tussle; The Purity agent informs Jono that the explosion that killed Gigi's boyfriend was not done by a bomb but by the powers of another mutant. 36 pgs.

Vaughan, pencils by Lee Ferguson, inks by Norm Rapmund; Chamber tells Amber that the mutant bombing on the ESU campus was probably the fault of a fellow mutant and not an anti-mutant hate group as is currently believed; They investigate the scene of the crime and notice the signs of a strange power signature; They approach Gigi with this information and she points them to the pro-Magneto mutant group, Magnetic North; Chamber tracks the group down in a club and has it out with the violent mutants who have been giving him such a hard time; Their leader, Neutrino Annihilator, gives Jono props for mopping up the floor with his boys and tells him of the only other mutant on campus who has explosive powers similar to Chamber's. Vaughan, pencils by Lee Ferguson, inks by Norm Rapmund; With the knowledge that a mutant was responsible for a deadly bombing at ESU, Chamber rushes back to campus frantically looking for his friend, Amber; He finds her with Students for Tolerance leader, Gigi, who is holding Amber at gunpoint; Chamber gets the full story as to how Gigi's mutant boyfriend accidentally killed himself and five other mutants when he was showing off with his powers; Gigi has tried to divert blame to anti-mutant groups so that ESU will not close its doors to mutants; Chamber makes the truth public and ESU does, indeed, discontinue their affirmative action policy for mutants, only allowing Amber to complete her studies; Xavier's School, however, begins to accept human students on a trial basis and its first enrollee is Jono's wheelchair bound roommate, Walter.
